Another treated synth intro here - but which briefly left me stumped as to what to do next. Then I noticed as it got more and more filtered it started to remind me of lift musak and that train of thought led me on to cheesy TV theme tunes. The obvious development of that was quiz shows and game shows, the embarrassing stories therein and the often-inappropriate prizes (such as the possibly apocryphal one - included here - of the couple who lived in an urban tower-block going on 'Bullseye' or something and winning a luxury speed-boat). And since there's always some chummy, upbeat, but somehow aggressive voice-over, telling you what you could win and how, I basically tried to do a version of that. (My model, actually, was Patrick Allen - who used to do the Barratt Homes ads and I think got roped in by Vic & Bob on 'The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer'). The musical accompaniment is a literal mash-up on the hoof of quiz show themes, made as short as possible to avoid trouble! As these shows often prey on people's avarice, the long drone that acts as the play-out was me contemplating that - hence the intoning of a barely-comprehensible 'Money' over the top.
